When you study photography one of the first things you are taught is to move around your subject and look for a different perspective for your shot. So often most of us just stand, hold the camera up and then take our photo. You often end up with a photo that looks a little boring by doing this. Let’s face it, that is the way most of people see things when we are walking around everyday. I was taught to take my first shot from that standard standing position and then ‘walk the arch’ around my subject. By shooting the subject at different angles, including getting down low or taking a shot from above, you get a much more interesting photo. You also get to photograph your subject with the light hitting it from different directions, which can result in a very different shot. For this shot I was down on the ground on my stomach (not a pretty sight) and shooting looking up through these daisies. This way you get the feeling you are right down amongst them and makes the photograph a little more interesting.
