Soft creamy white magnolias

7 years ago we planted a magnolia in our garden.  I couldn’t wait until it matured enough to be full of the  huge white flowers that I had seen on the trees in our local park.  Our tree grew well and looked healthy, but every time it formed a bud it would discolour and by the time the flower opened it was brown and the petals marked.      For years I have wanted just one magnolia to open and be perfect so I could photograph it.   I had given up on that ever happening until I glanced over yesterday and noticed that most of the buds had opened and our tree was full of the most beautiful large creamy white magnolia flowers.   After spending the day photographing magnolia flowers I can only say, I think the wait was worthwhile ….
