Well Christmas has passed and the new year is about to begin. Christmas this year for us was a low key affair which was nice. It wasn’t stressful and we had time to relax and enjoy the company of our family and good friends. No frantic shopping trips for us this year. We were organised weeks before Christmas. I think Steve’s organised ways are slowly rubbing off on me. He would say “very slowly” 😉 Before I met Steve I was one of the crazy people who ran around on Christmas Eve doing their Christmas shopping. No wonder I never seemed to enjoy Christmas, it always just seemed like hard work.
This year when we put up our Christmas tree it was such a joy to decorate it with the decorations that we bought in Europe last Christmas. When we were in Burano in Italy we found three exquisite hand painted glass decorations. I nursed these through 5 countries while on our tour and got them home in one piece. I only wish I had purchased more now I have seen how gorgeous they look on the tree. I suppose it gives me an excuse to go back to Venice doesn’t it?
