Well 2011 has turned out to be an amazing year for me. It’s funny how I can look back now and see clearly that things have happened to me for a reason.
Back at the end of 2010 I was retrenched from my job of 22 years. The timing was perfect as the company was undergoing a change. These changes where difficult for all of us who valued the ethics of the ‘old’ company. I loved the people I worked with at my old job but I was no longer enjoying my work or the new direction the company was taking.
Taking this time off gave me time to evaluate what I wanted to do next. It gave me time to focus on my photography. In 2011 I have met some really talented photographers who have all helped me with my photography in different ways. I have been very fortunate that these photographers have generously passed on their knowledge to help my photography improve. I have taken this year to read, study and google all things photography and have loved every minute of it. I have found a wonderful mentor, who after only one session gave me so much valuable advice and reassurance that my head was spinning for a weeks afterwards. Working with Wendy in 2012 is going to be amazing 🙂
I couldn’t end this post without mentioning my gorgeous husband Steve. Without his assistance and support I would not have been able to spend this year focusing on my photography. He is my greatest supporter, I am a lucky girl to have him 🙂
