Natural Light Workshop

Recently I had the opportunity to attend a photography workshop run by Shelton Muller.   Shelton’s style of photography is very different to mine but I was interested in learning more about the different aspects of shooting more dramatic shots using only natural lighting.   Although this  lighting technique wouldn’t be suitable for photographing children and families I do think it is a fantastic way to create strong dramatic images of guys.  I have never had the opportunity to photograph a professional model before so having David sit for us was a dream.  Poor David had to put up with so much that day.  Shelton and Glynn teased him constantly and then David had to put up with all of us lining up to continually take shots of him for hours.   How he managed to keep focused on posing I do not know.   I do have to admit that having a model that did what you asked of him and didn’t run away like children often do  was a nice change 😉  David was such a nice guy, he certainly earned his pay that day.  I loved every moment of learning new shooting techniques and listening to Shelton and Glynn’s wealth of photography knowledge.
