Dreaming big | Etsy | Wall Art

Well another weekend is drawing to a close.  I can’t believe how quickly weekends fly by.   This weekend I did something that I have been dreaming of doing for years!   I went to the art shop in Geelong and I bought myself what I needed to dip my toe into the wonderful world of water colour painting.   I have wanted to try water colour painting since I was in my 20’s but never did.  Even when I did go through my painting stage with acrylic paint I was still to scared to try water colour.  It is funny how what someone says to you as a passing comment can lodge firmly in your brain.  The person who once told me that water colour painting was the most difficult painting medium probably has no idea how that one sentence would put me off trying it for more than half my life.   It does prove how powerful words can be and how a simple statement made by someone can effect a person much more than we can ever know.

Well I have got everything and I am ready to start!  I have watched countless Youtube videos on water colour for beginners and I am chomping at the bit to get started.  Why haven’t I done so you ask?  Well its that same old thing that affects nearly everything I do.  I don’t want to start until I ‘know’ it will be perfect.  This mindset of mine has stopped me trying so many things over the years.  It wasn’t until I relaxed and tried photographing other things that my photography journey changed and started to inch forward.

I am finally following my dream.  Stay tuned for my first water colour masterpiece.  That is if I game enough to show you …
