Wow! Where did those last few months go? I have been busy taking photos but my blogging has taken a back seat unfortunately.
A few months ago my friend Paul sent me a link showing me that Lensbaby had released a new lens. Paul thought it would be great for my style of photography. I had read about Lensbaby’s a while ago and really liked what I saw, but I thought I would be better off spending my money on more traditional lenses at the time. How wrong I was! I have recently bought the Composer Pro with the Sweet 50 optic and the macro converter kit and I am loving it. I can see more Lensbaby’s in my life very soon.
My love affair with this lens did not begin on our first date. The first time I took it out, I only managed to nail the focus on two images. My second outing was marginally better, but not much. Slowly I have started to get use to the way this lens differs from traditional lenses resulting in some images that I really like. I had read that there was a steep learning curve with this lens and this is true. Patience and perseverance is required to get the best results from your Lensbaby.
The best thing about using this lens from my point of view is, that as a photographer it provides me with an opportunity to see the world a little differently and I am really enjoying this…
